Advancing Pennsylvania’s Regional Innovation Economy

Tuesday, December 06, 2022
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

In 2019 we heard from leaders from the Commonwealth who were pioneering new initiatives in their communities to drive innovation, prosperity, and investments. At that time, the Brookings Institute had released a report on the state of Pennsylvania's innovation economy compared with other states. This report showed us how we compare to other states in advancing an innovation economy in significant and incremental ways.

Join us for the release of the Brookings Institute's newest report, “Commonwealth of Innovation: A Policy Agenda for Revitalizing Pennsylvania’s Economic Dynamism" focusing solely on Pennsylvania's innovation economy. The report highlights Pennsylvania's key innovation sectors and outlines what the new administration in Harrisburg can do to invigorate the Commonwealth's economy.

Attendees will participate in an interactive dialogue with Mark Muro, Senior Fellow and Policy Director, the Metropolitan Policy Program, The Brookings Institution, and Robert Maxim, Senior Research Associate, The Brookings Institution, where we will discuss the trends, opportunities, and challenges facing Pennsylvania. Brookings will lay out the state-level policy recommendations that the new Governor can include in his agenda to help energize the state’s innovation sector, which attendees can use to impactfully advocate for their sector.
