According to a new survey by realtor.com and HarrisX, millennials are increasingly condensing their timelines to purchase a home due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and its possible impact on the future housing market. On the other hand, that same uncertainty has caused another group of millennials to opt to rent for reasons like avoiding additional debt or for the flexibility renting provides as we continue to see shifts in how and where people work.

Greater Philadelphia’s housing market is on the rise, interest rates are historically low, and home values continue to increase, but renting is still an option with a number of short-term advantages. Gain insight into the region’s growing housing market, the state of renting, and the impact both have on young professionals at a this critical juncture.
