Tuesday, May 16, 2017
8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Due to inclement weather, the CEO Access Network breakfast and YPC Networking event at Roy-Pitz Barrel House on Wednesday, March 21 is cancelled. Rescheduled dates for both events will be communicated to participants once confirmed.

Manufacturers in Greater Philadelphia have the potential to accelerate their short- and long-term growth through strategic market expansion and the operationalization of innovations. We’re convening leaders from the manufacturing industry, and stakeholders from sectors linked to it, to discuss how these opportunities can continue to strengthen this important sector in our region.

Mike Trebing, Senior Economic Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, will present the May Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey; a monthly assessment with a focus on regional business activity in the manufacturing sector.

Yoel Fink, PhD, MIT; Charles Riordan, PhD, University of Delaware; and Genevieve Dion, Director Center for Functional Fabrics, Drexel University will discuss projects that were chosen to participate as a Manufacturing USA Institute, how they leveraged these federal dollars to garner private investment and examine the preliminary impact of these vital public-private partnerships.

Manufacturing USA is a network of federally funded regional institutes, each with a specialized technology focus and the ultimate goal of securing the future of manufacturing in the U.S.. More than $700 million in federal dollars was committed to ten institutes across the country with additional investment in excess of $1.4 billion from non-federal partners.

These featured speakers will be followed by an expert panel of manufacturers who will discuss the potential growth opportunities and regional investments that can position manufacturers to continue to make economic gains in an for Greater Philadelphia.
