Understanding the Regional Impact of Changes to Health Care

As a global leader in health care, Greater Philadelphia’s tremendous assets continue to catalyze innovations, breakthroughs, and collaborations that are driving the sector forward.  Efforts to improve the nation’s health care system will test the region’s ability to continue its success as a powerful magnet for companies across the health care and life sciences spectrum.

This event will explore the achievements and challenges under the nation’s existing health care policy and illustrate how proposed reforms will affect our ecosystem.  Following the keynote presentation, local leaders will provide a diverse range of regional perspectives.

 

Keynote Speaker:

Ezekiel J. Emanuel, MD, PhD

Ezekiel J. Emanuel is the Vice Provost for Global Initiatives, the Diane v.S. Levy and Robert M. Levy University Professor, and Chair of the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.

He was the founding chair of the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health until August of 2011. He recently served as a Special Advisor on Health Policy to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget and National Economic Council.

Dr. Emanuel received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and his Ph.D. in political philosophy from Harvard University and has published widely on health care reform, research ethics and end of life care. His most recent book, Reinventing American Health Care, examines the history of the U.S. health care system, the Affordable Care Act, and health care predictions for the future. Its sequel, Prescription for the Future, is due out in June 2017. Dr. Emanuel also serves as a Venture Partner at Oak HC/FT in addition to serving as contributor for the New York Times and Fox News

Pre-registration is necessary, availability is not guaranteed for walk-ins. Payment is required upon registration/entrance. No refunds will be given one week prior to program/event. Substitutions may be made. Tickets will be held at the door. Reserved seating for tables of 10 only. Please advise your guests that tickets will be held at the door under your company name.
