On January 25, join the Arts + Business Council, a Council of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, in bringing the business, legal, technology, and creative communities together for an event on advancing women in business and tapping into the $11 trillion female investment market, featuring former Wall-Street-powerhouse turned leather jacket wearing-entrepreneur, Sallie Krawcheck.

Sallie Krawcheck is one of the highest ranked women ever to have worked on Wall Street, having held posts such as CEO of Smith Barney, CEO of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and CFO of Citigroup and was a top-ranked research analyst. She has been profiled as one of Fast Company’s “Most Creative People” in Business, as well as in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, and more. Today, she is Co-Founder and CEO of Ellevest, an innovative digital investment platform designed to help women reach their long-term financial investment goals. She is also Chair of the Ellevate Network, a professional networking community whose mission is to advance the positive impact of women in business.

Having been the lone woman at the highest rungs of Wall Street, Krawcheck knows what it takes to succeed as a woman in a man’s world. Rather than "lean in" further, play the game better, demand a seat at the table—i.e., act more like men—a better plan is to leverage the unique traits that make women stronger leaders, better team players, and more valuable assets to employers: broader perspective, healthier attitude toward risk, greater creativity, long-term focus, empathy, and more. Women who capitalize on these traits won’t need to demand a place at the table. It will be offered to them; not out of political correctness, but out of good business sense.
