Read to Me

Early Literacy Program

Friday, May 19, 2017
8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Storyteller registration is closed for the 13th Annual Read to Me Storyteller Event, but we are accepting donations for the year-long Read to Me Early Literacy Program. Contact swilliams@chamberphl.com for more information or make your contribution below.

Thanks to the regional effort of our donors and volunteers, the Chamber was able to double last fall’s order of hardcover read-aloud books for participating schools, as well as add a new school to reap the benefits of the Read to Me Early Literacy Program—impacting 135 classrooms in 25 schools this year.

Contributions will provide new and refurbished classroom libraries and book bags to low-income schools for the 2017-2018 school year, teacher workshops for best practices on early literacy, and reading tips to parents and caregivers.

During the Chamber’s 13th Annual Read to Me Storyteller Event, participating Storytellers will spend the morning reading Last Stop on Market Street to a classroom of Philadelphia school children following a networking breakfast with other business and community leaders.

You can support the Read to Me Early Literacy program with your tax-deductible donation in the following ways:

A special thanks to our supporting partners.
