    Bank of America Charitable Foundation awarded $457,500 to nonprofits to help connect the unemployed, veterans, youth and those with disabilities to training and employment opportunities.

    The Bank of America Charitable Foundation awarded $395,000 to 16 nonprofits offering job training and education programs that help connect the unemployed, underemployed, veterans, youth and those with disabilities with employment opportunities.

    “Bank of America recognizes that jobs and education play a critical role in advancing economic development, and we continue to look for ways to support innovative programs connecting the unemployed and underemployed with employment success,” said Thomas C. Woodward, Pennsylvania president for Bank of America.

    Nonprofits receiving grants are Energy Coordinating Agency, Philadelphia Academies, Inc., Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Center for Literacy, City Year, Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Entrepreneur Works Fund, Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber, JEVS Human Services, Mural Arts Program, Npower PA, Philadelphia Education Fund, Urban League of Philadelphia, Teach for America, YMCA and Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians.
