    The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and regional partners are organizing a conference to inform private-sector employers about apprenticeship as a talent recruitment and development strategy. The conference includes a national perspective on best practices and innovations in apprenticeship and opportunities for employer involvement in apprenticeship programs underway in the Delaware Valley region. Lessons learned from apprenticeship programs in health care, information technology, and manufacturing will be highlighted in workshops. A workshop on how to get new apprenticeships approved will include information on apprenticeship programs that have been started by a major financial institution and three insurance companies.

    The conference will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Chemical Heritage Foundation at 315 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia.

    The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, The Brookings Institution, William Penn Foundation, the University of Pennsylvania's Institute for Urban Research, and 22 other co-sponsors and supporters are organizing a national conference on challenges in reinventing and revitalizing cities and other older communities. Leading practitioners and researchers around the country are speaking in this third Reinventing conference, which will take place March 26 to 28, 2008 at the Marriott Philadelphia Downtown Hotel. The conference features current practice, improving practice, and research tracks.
