    Are you ready to join a team whose mission is to help girls realize they can do anything?

    Matchmakers needed! As a Placement Manager, you’ll help interested girls find troops and match potential volunteers with girls waiting for a troop – helping to ensure that the Girl Scouts experience is open to everyone!

    The Placement Manager manages and follows up with leads in order to convert potential girl and adult members. This is a highly cross-functional role that relies on great communication skills, technological savvy, and a willingness to use data to drive work. The Placement Manager is responsible for enrolling new volunteers, including interviewing and ensuring volunteers meet Pennsylvania state clearance requirements. Using a placement list and daily reports of incoming leads, the Placement Manager works with leaders and volunteers, as well as Recruitment Managers, to grow and start new troops within a defined geographic area.

    We are hiring full-time Recruitment Managers in Greater Philadelphia. Recruitment Managers develop and implement recruitment strategies designed to raise awareness and generate interest in Girl Scouts, resulting in measurable membership leads. Recruitment Managers are the primary Girl Scouts recruiter for a defined geographic territory and are responsible for attracting girls and adult volunteers, building relationships and providing operational support to Service Units, identifying potential Girl Scout meeting locations, and developing and managing funded troop opportunities within the territory. This position requires extensive day-travel and regular nights and weekends in order to meet, present, and network with community organizations, schools, corporations, educators, faith-based institutions, and other community constituents.

    Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) is seeking a Director of Recruitment, Greater Philadelphia to drive recruitment of girls and adult volunteers to join the Girl Scouts movement.

    The Director of Recruitment, Greater Philadelphia oversees a team of nine Recruitment Managers and is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies, resulting in measurable membership leads, for a defined geographic territory. The Director of Recruitment works with colleagues across the council to analyze data, coordinate messaging, and carry out comprehensive and strategic plans to meet local and overall membership recruitment and retention goals.

    The ideal candidate will be positive and forward-thinking, and will have experience in recruitment/sales, volunteer management, and/or community organizing. Knowledge of the Philadelphia area is required.

    Miquon, Pa. -- For more than two decades, the Girl Scouts have honored women who demonstrate the highest levels of achievement in their fields and serve as role models to the next generation of women leaders.

    Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania is continuing this historic tradition and seeking nominations for women to recognize at its 23rd Annual Take the Lead ceremonies. The event will be held Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.

    The deadline for nominations is Monday, December 8, 2008.

    Take the Lead honors women from the Philadelphia region considered role models for girls and who exemplify the highest ideals of Girl Scouting.

    On March 2, 2009, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania will host its 23nd Take The Lead awards ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel. For over two decades, the Girl Scouts have honored women who demonstrate the highest levels of achievement in their fields and serve as role models to the next generation of women leaders. With over 40,000 girl members and 16,000+ volunteers, GSEP is the largest girl-serving organization in the region. Funds raised through Take The Lead support members, troops, programs, camps, service centers and shops throughout Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, and Philadelphia Counties.

    Help us continue the tradition by nominating a woman whose leadership helps make the world a better place. Please go to www.gsep.org, download the nomination form and follow the instructions for submission. The deadline is December 8, 2008.
